Delhi Daredevils Trounce Chennai Super Kings

Virender Sehwag (71) and Gautam Gambhir (50) helped Delhi Daredevils halt the winning streak of Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Sehwag made a swashbuckling 71 in 41 balls and had a 100-run partnership with Gautam Gambhir to frustrate the Chennai side. After the departure of Sehwag, Gambhir continued the good work and reached his half century in 36 balls.
Earlier, S Vidyut celebrated his debut in the Indian Premier League with a quick-fire 54 (37 balls) to take Chennai Super Kings to a competitive 169 for six. Vidyut proved a perfect replacement for Michael Hussey and shared a 57 runs parternership with his skipper MS Dhoni for the third wicket.
Glen McGrath did not allow the hosts to go all out and openers Parthiv Patel and Stephen Fleming were not able to play big shots.
After the departure of Fleming, Vidyut and Patel shared a 43-run second wicket stand and raised their team's 50 in the seventh over. After Patel's departure Dhoni tried to maintain the brisk pace of scoring. Vidyut reached his 50 off just 31 balls but added another four runs to his score.
Thereafter Dhoni walked back to the pavilion, caught at long off by Shoaib Malik off the bowling of Mohd. Asif and later Suresh Raina was ran out by Pradeep Sangwan. Albie Morkel scored a quick-fire 28 off 16 balls to 169.

Chennai Super Kings 169/6
Delhi Daredevils 172/2
