Some great bowling performance helped Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Daredevils by 29 runs in the IPL match at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
Earlier, batting first Mumbai Indians failed yet again to score a great total and were restricted to 162 for eight by the Delhi Daredevils. With only one victory in five matches, the Mumbai Indians batsmen finished up with a less-than-competitive score.
Sanath Jayasuriya (34), newcomer Yogesh Takawale (14), Dominic Thornely (30) and Robin Uthappa (22) got good starts but failed to capitalise on them as Delhi Daredevils bowlers struck at regular intervals to dent their progress.
The opening pair of Takawale and Jayasuriya collected 46 runs but after their departure, Mumbai Indians' innings went into decline before being revived by some good batting from Robin Uthappa and Thornely.
Delhi Daredevils, Virender Sehwag, once again sparkled with bat and made a quick-fire 40 runs off just 20 balls but other batsmen hardly made any real efforts to take Delhi home and Delhi lost the 4 wickets for just 14 runs.
Result of the Match: Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Daredevils by 29 runs
Man of the Match: Shaun Maclean Pollock
